Before Chuck Daly's arrival in Detroit, the Pistons had never recorded back-to-back winning seasons, and seven years later they recorded back-to-back championships. Daly was previously the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, when his two centers were Bill Laimbeer and James Edwards. Daly also has the distinction of being only the third coach in history to win back-to-back titles. His superb coaching abilities landed him the job of coach for the 1992 USA Olympic Dream Team, which captured the gold medal.
